The black pepper its one spice being mentioned in that book Dr. John R Christopher, WWI WWII American military doctor. The same book. So that is one spice I will have them.
Do I put the salt?
When you reading the recipe, usually those salt and sugar are adding it in the beginning of the making of any kinds of the food, or batter, or flour mixture. Salt has many reason you put in the things dry or wet ingredient, not necessarily it was for the taste reason, so if you meant in the ending what would be the only taste on that Fried Zucchini or Fried Eggplant, its the black pepper. Not salt. I am not using the salt in this recipe for the taste.
